Glo has just cancelled its 1.2GB for N200 data plan. The Glo 1.2GB is a special data plan by Glo which gives its subscribers 1.2GB for just N200, which is valid for 3 days. So far, this move by Globalcom  has attracted a lot of criticism from its subscribers. Most especially the youths who stormed their twitter page demanding to know why the Glo 1.2GB for N200 was cancelled.

Update: Glo have now modified this plan and tagged it Glo daily data splash and it is now N300 for 1GB

Glo Nigeria later replied saying the decision to stop the 1.2GB for N200 was taken by its management and the reason behind this was not yet disclosed.
Glo through its twitter handle further revealed that its management are working on a better data offer and will make available to subscribers when it is ready.

What Does All This Mean For Glo

In my opinion, stopping the 1.2GB for N200 by Glo was a wrong moved by the Telecom company. Considering the fact that they have one of the slowest and most unreliable network/internet speed in the country. Their cheap and affordable data plans is what made Glo stand out among their competitors, and by getting rid of the 1.2GB for N200 there might be very little reason to stick to the network.
This is already having an effect on the company as can be seen on various social media, one angry subscriber wrote.
Since Glo don discontinue the 1.2GB for N200 make I also discontinue their sim too”.

Alternative To The Glo 1.2GB For N200

An alternative for the Glo 1.2GB for N200 would be the 9mobile N200 for 1GB, The MTN N200 for 1GB and the Airtel N350 for 1GB. although none of these can be compared to the Glo 1.2GB for N200. These are still among the most affordable data plan right now.

For the 9mobile plan, subscribers who aren’t eligible can only subscribe on weekends, while for the MTN plan, you will have to leave your sim inactive for a month to be eligible. Everyone is eligible to subscribe for the Airtel 1GB for N350 but the data plan is only valid for a day.

With this new move by Glo there is not doubt that customers will move to their competitors in other to get value for their money.

  1. 9mobile too have stopped their 1gb for #200. These network companies just use these mouth watering offers to lure in customers then leave them high & dry.
I know glo network is still poor compared to others, I still prefer them.
